The official opening of the Rotary Tree of Remembrance, in Patrick Street yesterday was performed by the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Kieran McCarthy. Pictured with the Lord Mayor are William Reville (Bishopstown Rotary) Kenny Fisher (President of Rotary in Ireland) and Tim O’Mahony (President of Cork Rotary Club).
You can put a personal messsage on one of thousands of yellow ribbons which are used to decorate the tree, either in person or by using the App and contribute a voluntary contribution. It is an event for all the family and has become a much cherished Christmas tradition over the past twenty years. The Tree of Remembrance adds to the magic of Christmas in Cork. It is our major fundraising event of the year and all funds generated go to very deserving Cork based charities.
